An Interview With Colin, One of Tag A Long’s Faces Leading the Company Into Success

Kiana: Thanks for taking the time, Colin – I know how busy things have been on your end! I would like to start the interview by learning about Tag A Long’s history; when did Tag A Long’s journey begin?

Colin:  Tag A Long trailers originally started in 1985 with Robbie Skidmore’s father, Rodney. Robbie took over the reins about 4-years ago after he purchased the company from his dad.

Robbie has been around the trailer industry since he was born; I worked for Robbie’s dad for ten years before moving on to another Job for 4 ½ years before Robbie rang asking me to make a return.

Since being back, I stepped into a management position; I am a person who does not like to sit back and wait for something to grow – especially when Tag A Long trailers have always been a great product more so now that Robbie was leading the way!

Kiana: Thanks for sharing Colin!

You and Robbie sound like great leaders to your Tag A Long team! What would you say are Tag A Long’s main goals and objectives moving forward now with the expansion into WA?

Colin: We try our best to be the best we can, but we have a great team behind us, which also helps take away some of the stress!

My main objective was to find a supplier in WA we could trust and who also had good customer service and reputation. After chatting with G&A Lombardi’s Trailer Sales Manager, Anthony – we just knew Lombardi was the place for us. You see, we struggled to get into the WA market due to freight; people wanted to see our products, as photos can only do so much. This is why I set out for six months to find the right supplier for our product.

G&A Lombardi was brought to my attention by a customer, so I decided to give Anthony a call, and it was exciting to have someone who has the same vision as us!

Kiana: How amazing now that the ball is rolling in the west will be exciting to see what else Tag A Long will achieve! Tag A Long seems like a company not to be messed with; what would you say makes you guys different to alternative tag trailer manufacturers?

Colin:  What sets us apart from everyone else is we like to listen to our customer base and truly appreciate and learn from feedback. We don’t just say, Sorry, we can’t do that, we always try our very best to accommodate our customer’s needs. Another factor that sets us apart is how we build to suit our customer’s customers specs, not just sticking to standard specifications. Having our customers call the shots with their specs helps us make their tag trailer come true.

Kiana: Truly impressive to learn more about Tag A Long, along with your story and objectives coming into the West Australian market. Will be such a great journey – not only for Tag A Long but for G&A Lombardi also. Again Colin, thank you so much for taking the time to chat with me today!
